Aujourd’hui s’est déroulé la première journée de la Convention Officielle de Xena à Burbank, Los Angeles. Durant ce premier jour exceptionnel étaient au programme: Cours d’apprentissage au yoga en compagnie d’Hudson Leick. Séances de photos, d’autographes, de questions-réponses et de sketchs avec plusieurs invités dont Tsianina Joelson (Varia), Steven L.Sears (Producteur exécutif & Scénariste), Paul Lynch (Scénariste), Hudson Leick (Callisto). Le fameux cabaret qui réunit fans et acteurs autour de la chanson, Darien Takle, Hudson Leick et Steven L. Sears étaient les maîtres de cérémonies de cette soirée exceptionnelle. Et pour terminer cette journée magnifique un karaoké entre fans.
Voici quelques questions-réponses que nous avons retenues de cette première journée.
♦ Robert Tapert veut faire un film sur la série. Malheureusement, le studio Universal n’en a pas fait une priorité.
♦Tsianina soutient la campagne pour un film Xena avec les acteurs originaux, elle aimerait également y reprendre son rôle de Varia. Elle a été approchée pour jouer dans la série Spartacus, mais elle a refusé à cause des scènes «chaudes».
♦Steven L.Sears a parlé du Subtext dans la série, et combien celui-ci était important pour la représentation des lesbiennes. Il a également expliqué que si Gabrielle était seulement une acolyte, elle aurait été tuée dans la saison 1.
♦Paul Lynch veut un film Xena et pour lui Hollywood est un tas de crétins pour ne pas faire un film sur la série car la base de fan est déjà présente. Il a également fait beaucoup d’éloges à propos de Lucy Lawless, Reneè O’Connor et Patrick Stewart.
♦Hudson Leick n’a pas aimé jouer Xena lors de la deuxième saison, Reneè était son entraîneur. Par contre, elle a adoré torturer Kevin Sorbo dans la série Hercule. Comme chaque année, Hudson a mis de l’ambiance: Elle a essayé ses chaussures à Steven, elle s’est roulée par terre, elle a sautillé sur place. Bref, c’est Hudson.

This exceptional day ended with a karaoke interpreted by the fans themselves.

♦ Robert Tapert Says he wants to do a Xena movie but unfortunately it’s not the priority of Universal Studio
♦ Tsianina supports the the campaign for a Xena movie with the original cast, she’d like to take back her part as Varia too. She’d been approached to ba part of the cast of Spartacus, but she declined the offer because according to her some of the scenes are « too hot ».
♦ Steven L. Sears talked about the subtext and how important it is to the lesbian community. He also added that if Gabrielle would have been just a sidekick, she would have been killed right away during the first season.
♦ Paul Lynch also wants a Xena movie but to him it seems that Hollywood is just a bunch of fools if they don’t understand that tje fan base is already there waiting for a movie. He also praised Lucy Lawless, Renée O’Connor and Patrick Stewart.
♦ Hudson Leick didn’t like to play the part of Xena during the second season, Renée was her trainer. But on the other hand she did like to torture Kevin Sorbo in the TV show Hercules. And as Usual Hudson was part of the amazing ambiance and did the show: she asked Steven to try on her shoes, she was crawling on the floor, she jumped around….All Hudson’s style.
